I need your help and support! There is an important election coming up on Tuesday, April 6. You will get the opportunity to elect a new Mayor as well as a representative to work for you in District 4 for City Council.

Do you realize that only about 10% of registered voters go to the polls to vote in city elections? We have to do better than this and I hope that you will vote this April and consider voting for me when you go.

I am running for City Council to offer experienced leadership to assist the city in better managing its finances and restoring public confidence.

I was honored to serve on Richland County Council from 1999-2006 and served as Chairman of County Council in 2005 and 2006.

During that time, I worked with the business community and neighborhood associations to pass the one cent Local Option Sales Tax, which has provided hundreds of millions of dollars in property tax relief to residents and small businesses in the city and county.

I will focus on efficiently managing the city's resources; reducing crime rates and strengthening neighborhood safety; developing economic growth and job creation opportunities; and fostering intergovernmental cooperation.

I want to bring a new perspective to City Council, eliminating inefficiencies and strengthening cooperation among local government to better serve our Columbia and Midlands area residents.
